I think the best bloggers, just like the best businesses, understand, they will be more successful, if they choose one niche and really satisfy the needs of that group. In the age of the internet, it is possible to be very successful focusing on the end of a very long tail, if you are the very best in that category. ( or sometimes the only player in that community)

I wish more bloggers would start thinking in terms of customers and use your information to refine their messages. Too many marketing writers seem to be all over the map, repeating the trend du jour or the next shiny big thing whether or not anyone really needs it.
