Customer Service Distilled

Today’s guest post is from Thomas Aaron.  (He is the two legged creature in the picture at left).  He shares his perspectives on social media and customer service. There seems to be a tipping point in the growth of most companies at which policies must be strictly adhered to in order to stop profit leakage. When this happens, customers are more likely to become numbers, and they are dealt with in a more adversarial, by-the-rules manner. There is nothing a consumer hates more than to have policies quoted when they are dissatisfied with a product or service. Consumers often grudgingly...

2011 Greatest Hits

We write a lot of blog posts for Business Notes from Roundpeg. We average eight to ten posts a week, on topics we think small business owners will care about: marketing, social media, networking, web design, strategy and team building.  Some posts are serious and some are informative, some of the posts are sentimental and others are rants. Each of the members of Roundpeg writes posts from time to time and we regularly invite guests to join us as well.   The blending of our different voices has created a blog which really represents who we are as a company. We watch our statistics to see...

3 Ways to Make the Most of Your Business Content this Holiday Season

While we don’t work with many retail companies,  I know some of our readers do.   In today’s guest post by Alan Grainger, we look at ways to create appropriate seasonal messages for B2B companies.  With the last page of the calendar about to be turned and turkeys around the world beginning to look slightly nervous, the festive season is very much upon us. Use RFP’s to Interview Your Clients

Today’s guest post is by Vicki Bohlsen the president of Bohlsen PR.  Her topic:  The RFP and how tot participate in the process in a way which helps you determine if the project is right for you.  Would you take a job without meeting your new boss? I’m sure you’ve participated in the RFP (Request for Proposal) debate. To answer them or not, that is the question.  I know people say they would never an answer an RFP, and I know people who search them out like black jelly beans and answer any and all they can find. I’m probably somewhere in the middle. I’m of the belief that...

High Five! Building Customer Loyalty With the Power of ‘Thank You’

Do you remember to say thank you to your clients?  In today’s guest blog post,  Chris Wallace talks about the different ways you can say thank you.  Down the street from where I live there’s a butcher named Frank. Everyone in the neighborhood knows him and loves him — he literally has hundreds of customers who skip the meat section at the grocery store and purchase their pork loins, sausage, and steaks direct from Frank’s Meats. He’s one of those guys who always seems to be in a good mood and knows everyone and their children by name. When Frank announced...

Growing Up and Moving On

This has been a year of departures at Roundpeg.  We will miss Sharayah as she heads back to school and wish her much success.  When I started at Roundpeg as an intern a year and a half ago, I came in with no formal training in graphic design. I was excited to get my hands dirty and get some real world experience in a design firm. I didn’t expect that my experience here would grow into what it did become, and that I would wind up as an employee who was able to learn and grow  beyond graphic design into web design and use many of the skills that I learned as a student at IUPUI. For...
