Here at Last

Hi, I’m Tina the newest intern here at Roundpeg. I have been here for exactly two hours and I’m thrilled because I’m sitting in a room with a group of people who help businesses look and sound their best. I finally get to work at place where everyone is focused on one thing: marketing! Ok, they are focused on marketing and cats. For some time now,  I’ve been interested in how social media is changing the way people do business. Earlier this year I had the opportunity to attend a Social Media Weekend at Columbia Journalism School that covered various trends and...

Social Media, SEO and Spider Slaying

Intern Drew Willis gives us an update on his second week at the ‘peg. Wrapping up my second week at Roundpeg, I’m happy to report that I’m settling in well. In just a few days, I’ve already learned to use several awesome software programs that make our lives at Roundpeg easier. From using the Yoast WordPress plug-in for SEO to learning the basics of email marketing with ConstantContact, to even learning the ins and outs of WordPress, I feel like I’ve done a bit of everything. Ask the Roundpeg crew how I slayed the largest spider ever to set all eight hairy legs...

First Day at Roundpeg

Meet the other half our our Intern Team.  After you read his post, be sure to say hi when you see him on Twitter. My name is Drew Willis and I will be Roundpeg’s marketing intern this summer. I’m from Muncie, Indiana and I will be a junior at Indiana University in Bloomington, where I am studying sociology and marketing. This past school year, I was a student consultant for the first American chapter of 180 Degrees Consulting, the world’s largest international student consulting group. There, I worked on a team of six to come up with innovative, practical solutions to...

First Day on the Job

Summer is upon us and it is time for another Roundpeg tradition, the arrival of our interns, along with their first blog posts.  Today, meet Jessica Weimer. I think the first day jitters are pretty typical. I wouldn’t know, since this is my first day on any job doing anything important. But here I am, at an actual desk, ready to start my summer as an intern at Roundpeg. And I was told more than once that I wouldn’t be the “coffee fetcher.” For the most part, I’m probably overly excited. Thinking about the things this could lead to for me is unreal. Hopefully it will land me...

Bonnie

“It’s only for two weeks,” Rebecca told Lorraine. “I just need to bring Bonnie to work while they’re remodeling my house. She’s a good dog, she’s quiet, doesn’t bark. Can I bring her to work?” Two weeks turned into five years. Bonnie faithfully came in with Rebecca three or four days a week. Bonnie was a gentle, undemanding presence. She never asked for much, just for an occasional belly rub or scratch on the ears. She was always a little afraid of the cats, this 70 pound bouvier de flandres shying away from these five pound felines....
